One of my most favorite memories of Tony was the last fishing trip he, Bobby Joe and I had! We laughed so much and shared memories of our dads as we watched the gators, carefully might I add, and caught a load of fish! His smile and laugh were infectious and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Love you Tony! Thanks so much for being such a wonderful and wacky addition to our family. Cathy Jones, one of your fishing buddies.
My what a wonderful man. Tony was the greatest man, a wonderful husband to Judy, a Great father to Gene and Alisha. He loved his granddaughters so very much. He was a true family man. I have known him for so many years and I love him like a brother.
He fought so hard and so long not to leave them alone and to be with his family.
God bless them and give them strength to go on, I know it won't be easy but he will be watching over them and they will always have him in their hearts.
I will miss him too. Love to all the family... Patti Johnson
My love and prayers to you all today, God took another angel, I know he will be missed such a trooper he was and all the memories he left.
A wonderful man who loved his family so much. I loved next door to them when I was four, Gene was still in diapers. I grew up with them and was treated as a part of the family. They took me to the races with them and I was always over there. When I got older and married we hunted with them. When I had children of my own they treated them as their grand kids, They loved their Tone, especially Bailee. She spent as much time with them as she did at home. I have such fond memories of him, and you all! I love y'all and my heart breaks. Prayers continued!
We have had many great years knowing tony and his family it has been a pleasure of knowing them it sure want be the same and there is no other man around like him R.I.P tony me and lee smith send the family r condolences
He laughed and he loved,,,and he fought so so hard. We first met Big Daddy and his family on our family vacation many years ago. Within a couple of years, our vacation family grew to some 20 families. We kept in touch over the years and always looked forward to our time together. Tony was a strong man, loved and respected by many. We watched him fight cancer for 11 years with a positive attitude through his children getting married and the birth of grandchildren. He had a wonderful capacity for unconditional love. God has a new angel.
TONY ELROD: A man I have known pretty much my entire life, A Finer; more honest, caring, loving, hunting, fishing, racing straight up man you'll NEVER find. My memories with Tony in the woods, on the water, at the track are best described as Awesome, Never to forget events. Tony's zest for life was one of a kind, He feared nothing and welcomed a challenge anytime, anywhere. A true legend around Kathleen and all north Lakeland for not just his skills with cars and engines but for his example of what a real family man is. His wife, kids, grandkids, all kids was his life and he loved them all. This man will surely be missed by any and all who ever knew him, me included. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now as they struggle to cope with what lays ahead. BIG "T" rest in peace my friend. Randy Jacobs.
