Susan Lynn Kelly's Obituary
Lakeland - Susan Lynn Kelly, 51, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2016 after a valiant fight with ovarian cancer. Susan is survived by her husband of 25 years, Daniel Kelly, and their two daughters, Meghan (18) and Erin (12). She also leaves her father, Frank Agosti, and his wife, Mary; her brothers Greg Agosti (Ann) and Mike Agosti (Jen); and sister Julie Agosti along with nephews and nieces, John, Maya, Andrew, and Elena. She was predeceased by her mother, Leslee Agosti.
Susan (Sue) grew up in Grosse Ile, MI, and graduated from Adrian (MI) College (1986) with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree, where she met her husband, Dan. While there, she captained both the women’s volleyball and basketball teams and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. Sue and Dan moved to South Florida in 1991, where Sue worked at various regional financial institutions. They moved to Lakeland in 1997, where Sue focused on raising her two girls; coaching many of their sports teams; being a caring friend and neighbor; and being active in the girls’ school communities. Sue had a tenacious spirit that helped her excel in everything she did. She had a large circle of friends and neighbors who provided invaluable support throughout her life and especially through her illness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2016, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, FL. Services will be held on Saturday, February 6th, 2016, at 10:30 am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3720 Old Hwy 37, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made online to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
