Roger Allen Hassebroek "Rah Rah"'s Obituary
Lakeland, FL-Roger Allen Hassebroek (RAH RAH) formerly from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, 65, passed away on January 23, 2018 at his residence in Lakeland, Florida. After a valiant battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer (NET). He was born on June 21, 1952 in Metropolis, Illinois to Raymond and Sena Hassebroek.
Roger grew up in Sibley, Iowa. He graduated from East High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1970. After high school he entered the Boilermaker Apprenticeship Program, graduating in 1975. He worked as a union boilermaker out of Local #83, Kansas City, MO for 41 years.
Roger married Jean Longstaff in 1971 in Sioux City, Iowa. They were happily married for 46 years. Roger was a member of Siouxland Dive Rescue for many years. He enjoyed scuba diving, motorcycling and travel.
Roger is survived by his spouse Jean of Lakeland, Florida; his son Thaddeus of Sioux City, Iowa: daughter Kristine Freimark (Robert) of Sioux City, Iowa; his brothers Lawrence D. (Mary) of Lake Mary, Florida and Hershel (Susan) of Hinton, Iowa; His grandchildren Nathan (Cristina) Hassebroek of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Connor Shilling of Sioux City, Iowa, Hunter and Ava Hassebroek of Tucson, Arizona; and two nieces and two nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Citrus Woods Community Building 1610 Reynolds Road at 4:30 PM February 3, 2018.
