Robert Glenn Reynolds' Obituary
Robert Glenn Reynolds (1944-2026) passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2026 at the wise age of 81 due to a heart condition in Lakeland, Florida.
Glenn graduated from University of South Florida with a degree in Education and became a teacher. He then furthered his education with a Masters degree from Rollins College and was a member of the Lakeland Rotary Club for many years fostering good relations with people. He married his beloved wife, Janet Lee Akins, in 1968, and together they raised two boys, Danny and Shane.
Glenn Reynolds was known for his high octane professionalism, love, life and being a great outdoorsman. He later would reach his hallmark pinnacle as “Superintendent of Polk County” in 1996, where he was a mentor and beacon to children and educators, implementing high standards. He was a pillar of support for the education profession, community and family structures.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet (Akins) Reynolds; his brother, Roy Reynolds; his children, Danny (Kimberly) Ochs and Shane (Rachel) Craft and his granddaughters, Bella, Regan and Riley Reynolds. (He loved them so much). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Reynolds; sister, Sharon (Reynolds) Broeils and parents, Roland and Leola Reynolds.
A celebration of life will be held on April 22, 2026 at 11:00 am at Trinity Presbyterian Church 301 N Florida Ave, Lakeland, Florida 33801 where we will celebrate the love and the life of our hero and beloved man.
Glenn’s love and joy for life as well as his kindness and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those that knew him.
He believed in a strong family based on Gods love and nature, lasting relationships and memories that stand tall the test of time.
