Robert Calhoun Fredere, Sr., 77
November 8, 1938 – October 31, 2016
Lakeland – Robert C. Fredere, Sr., 77 of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, after a long illness. He was born in Council, NC on November 8, 1938. Bob was director of claims for Watkins Motor Lines for 40 years. He was a Christian, a Shriner, a good provider for his family, and many other things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis B. Fredere, Sr. and Mary Horton Fredere; and by two brothers, Francis B. Fredere, Jr. and Jerry Horton Fredere.
His survived by his wife, Zelda Phillips Fredere of the home; two sons, Robert C. Fredere, Jr. and wife Sheary of Lakeland and Edward Fredere and wife Beth of Lakeland; by six grandchildren, Bobby Fredere III and his wife Joanna of Nashville, TN, Andrew Harley and his wife Morgan of Dallas, TX, Lauren Harley McQuillen and her husband Jeremy of Lakeland, Chelsea Fredere Allen and her husband Cody of Lakeland, Dakota and Emma Fredere of Lakeland; and four great-grandchildren Savannah and Wyatt Allen, and Levi and Lane McQuillen.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Light of Lights Chapel at Victory Church, Lakeland, Florida at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the two grandsons, Bobby Fredere and Andrew Harley.
A graveside service for the burial of the ashes will be held at Mt. Horeb Church in Council, NC at a date and time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bob’s favorite charity Shriners Children’s Hospital.
