Phillip Rose's Obituary
Phillip Rose, age 76 of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2019 in Lakeland.
He was born December 9, 1942 in Campton, Wolfe County, KY to Rainey Ellis Rose & Vivian Edwards Rose. He was adopted and raised by his paternal grandparents Asa Buford Rose & Delilah Taulbee Rose. He served our country in the United States Army Corps. in Fort Hayes, Ohio for six years as an Engineer Equipment Repairman. He worked at Country Hearth Bakery, and retired from Covenant Transport where he was an over-the-road driver for eight years. He enjoyed working in his garden, adoring his wife, Donna, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, both biological and adopted; three brothers Lenville, Clifford, and Shockey, and three sisters Pauline, Josephine, and Martha.
He is survived by his sisters Charlotte Ann (Ira) Parks of Campton, Kentucky, Patricia Rose Atkisson of Grandburg, Texas; brother Lee Rose (Mickey) of Campton, Kentucky; three children from his first marriage to Peggy Jewel Amos: son, Jeffery Scott Rose of Lakeland, daughters, Melissa Rose McCoy (Marco) Vasquez of Bartow and Melinda Rose Cust of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Jeffery Rose, Bentley Penzotti, Courtney McCoy, Darla (David) Burks, Josh McCoy, Chayse Vasquez, Michael Vasquez, Brittany Vasquez, Matthew Lajoie, and Daniel Cust; great grandchildren, Railynn Cannon, Rogan Burks, Brantley Vasquez, Shyanne Willette, and Bastian Lajoie.
Phillip is survived by his second wife, Donna Rose of Lakeland, his step-son Kenneth Ivan Holbrook of Lakeland, step-daughter Amy Leigh Holbrook Johnson of Lakeland, grandchildren Ariel O’Neal, Alexandra Young, Katalina Holbrook, Christinna Holbrook, Nathaniel Holbrook, Arabella Holbrook, Brittany Herrera, Richard Fredrick Johnson III (Tri) and great granddaughter Emery Rose Brittle.
Funeral services will be held on October 17, 2019 at 2:45 at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Grant and John Richardson officiating.
