Dr. Paul Lack, 89
Dr. Paul D. Lack, 89 of Lakeland, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 23rd. He was born on February 3, 1926 in Ridgely, TN. He was predeceased by Jane Lack, his wife of 67 years. He is survived by his sister Evelyn King, of Summerville, SC; daughters Amy and husband Doc Jenkins, of Lakeland, FL; Judy Zumbaugh, of Lakeland, FL; and three grandchildren.
Dr. Lack attended Detroit Bible College, and finished his Baccalaureate degree at Stetson University, in Deland, Florida. He earned his Doctorate of Divinity Degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas. Dr. Lack served many Baptist congregations in Detroit, Michigan; Ormond Beach, Florida; Clyde, North Carolina, Polk City and Lakeland, Florida. Dr. Lack started the Chaplain program with the Lakeland Police Department in 1980. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Convention. Most recently, Dr. Lack served as pastor to the Senior Adult community at Parkview Church in Lakeland, Florida.
Dr. Lack served in WWII as a member of the Army’s 85th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, where he earned several Medals of Honor, including the Bronze Star for Valor. In 2010, Dr. Lack was able to visit the WWII memorial in Arlington, VA and lay a wreath at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier.
Visitation will be at 10:00am with services at 11:00am on Monday September 28th at Parkview Baptist Church, 509 Parkview Pl, Lakeland, FL. Interment will follow at Mt Olive Cemetery in Polk City.
