Patricia Darlene Sherrouse McNey "Ga"'s Obituary
Patricia Darlene Sherrouse McNey, 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. A 6th generation Florida native, Darlene was born in Dade City on September 14, 1951 to parents Denver H. and Edith (Tillman) Sherrouse. She spent most of her life in Polk County and was a graduate of Kathleen High School.
Darlene was a positive influence to so many. She was a constant support for loved ones throughout every stage of her life. She played a major role in raising many children, including her nieces and nephews. Her continuous love and support left an enormous impact on countless family members, friends, and acquaintances.
Darlene was a cherished daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend. Above all, she was a wonderful Mom, and beloved “Ga” to her grandchildren, whom she loved fiercely.
Ga is preceded in death by her parents Denver and Edith, sister Carolyn Wade, and brothers Larry and Chip Sherrouse. She is survived by sons Stephen McNey, Daniel McNey, and Michael McNey (Nicole); Daughter Deborah Vallejo (Jesus); Brother Jimmy Sherrouse (Joan); Sister in Law Barbara Sherrouse; grandchildren Timothy McNey, Connor McNey, William McNey, Brittany Vianello (John), Christopher McNey, Shawna Allen, Jay Vallejo, and Erika Vallejo; 2 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other numerous family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2024 in the Fellowship Hall at Bethel Baptist Church in Lakeland.
