Marinda Napier's Obituary
Marinda Frances Napier. 87 of Lakeland went home to be with the Lord Sat. May 17, 2025 Marinda passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice of Lakeland. Marinda was born in the beautiful hills of W. Va. in the small town of Kenova Dec. 14, 1937 to parents John Marcum and Ruby Ramey Marcum. Marinda had been residing the last 16 months at Lake Gibson Village Assisted Living of Lakeland and all that knew her there loved her, her great sense of humor, sweet spirit and the love she showed to so many of the staff and residents. Marinda, most knew her as Fran, was married for almost 69 years till her husband Paul passed. They were members of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church of Lakeland for many years. Their walk with Christ led them to gospel singing at various churches which they thoroughly enjoyed for many years. Marinda was a great cook in her days and loved cooking for her family. Her passion led her to have restaurants, sandwich shops and a yogurt shop too. In addition to her parents Marinda was preceded in death by her husband Paul Napier, infant son Dale Allen Napier, Brothers, Jimmy Roger Marcum and Danny Ray Marcum. Marinda had 4 children, Debra (Frank) Purcell of Lakeland,Teresa Small of Lakeland, Paul (Angie) Napier of Leesburg ,Melissa (Johnny) Register of Lakeland. 7 Grandchildren, David (Sherri) Freeze of Zephyrhills, Kevin (Renee) Freeze of Oviedo, Mindy (Jason) Crandell of Dade City, Travis Calhoun of Lakeland, Terena Landowski of Lutz, Jacob (Jennifer) Register of Lakeland Jessie (Thea) Napier of Casselberry. Marinda had 10 Great Grandchildren, Baker, Colton, Alex, Quora, Andrew, Mallory, Jessa, Leo, Johnny and Gracie. 2 Sisters, Fara (Bob) Sturz of Plant City and Erma Weston of Lake Wales.
