When my future mother-in-law asked where Bob and I would be married back in November of 1979, quickly I told her my home church but that my Uncle Lee would come from Doniphan to officiate the ceremony. It was never a question in my mind! There was no one else that could perform my wedding than my beloved Uncle Lee. Of course, he came and I will never forget how he tricked me at the rehearsal into repeating “honor and obey”. I didn’t even catch it until I looked up at him and saw that sweet loving smile and realized why everyone was laughing. Uncle Lee was always able to make everyone around him feel good. Now it’s your turn Uncle Lee. Rest well my dear uncle, enjoy your well deserved eternity. I love you.
