Keith Elmer Eggert's Obituary
Keith Elmer Eggert, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great–grandfather and Bible
teacher went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 9. He passed peacefully at home in Lakeland,
FL surrounded by family.
Keith was born in Victor, IA on September 28, 1940 to Elmer and Kathleen Eggert. He
graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1961 where he studied piano and Bible. It was
there that he met “the cutest little blonde girl” named Sandra Justus with whom he celebrated his

He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in piano at the University of Michigan, a Master of
Music at the University of Arizona, and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological

Over several decades, Keith served the Lord as both a pastor and a professor of Bible and
music in Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, Alabama, Florida and North Carolina. One of his longest
seasons of ministry was teaching at Spurgeon Baptist Bible College in Mulberry, FL for 10 years.
During that time, he and Sandra, along with a few special friends, started Faith Baptist Church in
Winter Haven, FL where he served many years as the Minister of Music, Adult Sunday School
teacher and Interim Pastor.
He also served as Associate Pastor & Minister of Music at Starkey Road Baptist Church in
Seminole, FL for 18 years and as Pastor to Senior Adults at Antioch Baptist Church in Lumberton,
NC for 15 years.
Other things he thoroughly enjoyed were writing Sunday School material for Union Gospel
Press, teaching piano to his great-grandchildren and cheering for the Michigan Wolverines.
Keith is survived by his wife Sandra and four children: Karen Williams, Denise (Dennis)
Davison, Brian (Angela) Eggert and Nolan Eggert; brother Dennis (Mary) Eggert, sister–in–law Diana

Keith’s ministry as a pastor, musician and Bible teacher has impacted countless lives,
including pastors and missionaries currently serving around the country and the world. His family
and good friends will cherish the memory of his deep love for the Lord, his family, good humor and
great music.
Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven on Saturday, May 17.
Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 am.
