Kaye H. Crabtree's Obituary
Kaye Hadlock Crabtree, 74, of Fernandina Beach, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 in Jacksonville. She was born to Mark H. and Dorothy Hadlock. Kaye was raised in and lived her life proudly as a Floridian for seventy-two years.
She was a 1968 graduate of Kathleen High School and 1974 Polk Community College Alumni. Her selfless heart was a guide through her career as a dedicated critical care nurse at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. After thirty-eight years, she retired her nurses coat in 2011. Kaye had a serious passion for crafting and proved her talent though the many items she made.
Kaye met her husband in the summer of 1966, at a teen "hanger dance" sponsored by the City of Lakeland. The dance was held at an old World War II hangar at the old "Lodwick Field" (location of the current Joker Marchant Stadium.) Kaye returned home to Christ in the summer of 2024. She and her husband, Donnie, were together for 58 years, married for 48 years. They made countless memories which will be cherished for years to come.
Kaye is survived by her husband, Donnie Crabtree; daughter, Lauren Crabtree and sister, Paula Armstrong. They will all miss her dearly, but will treasure the times they shared and delight in the impact she made on their lives.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, both will be held at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. A committal service will immediately follow the funeral at Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.
