Joseph Edward Lovette's Obituary
Joseph Edward Lovette, 38, of Lakeland, Florida, went home to Heaven on Monday, May 20, 2024 after a courageous battle against aggressive brain cancer. He was a devoted follower of Christ, husband and father who leaves behind his loving wife, Corrie Goldsmith Lovette, and their two precious daughters, Josie and Lucy.
Joseph was born February 6, 1986 in Raleigh, North Carolina, to Jerry and Elizabeth (Lee) Medina Lovette.
He graduated from Cornerstone Classical Academy in 2004 (Gainesville, Florida) and Southeastern University (Lakeland, Florida) in 2008 with honors. He also earned his Master’s Degree in Sports Management online from Liberty University in 2014.
Joseph married the love of his life, Corrie, on December 27, 2008. They shared many trials and triumphs together and made a great team.
Joseph dedicated his considerable strength, intelligence and talent to serving others and was a generous friend and faithful encourager to all who knew him. He worked for Goldsmith Construction for over ten years. He was also a founding member of The King’s Church (Lakeland, Florida). One of his passions was sports and he was a lifelong athlete who coached throughout his adult life. Most recently for ten years as Boys Middle School Soccer Coach at Lakeland Christian School.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lovette, and is now reunited with a son or daughter lost to miscarriage in 2018.
Joseph is survived by his wife of over fifteen years, Corrie Lovette; his "baby girls" Josie Marie and Lucy Jo; his mother, Lee Lovette, siblings Andrew Lovette (wife Taylor), Doug Lovette (wife Nancy), D’Lynn Klema (husband Tom), parents in-law Joe and Cindy Goldsmith, siblings in-law Levi Goldsmith (wife Kristen), Taylor Goldsmith (wife Jessica) and fourteen nieces and nephews, who he loved beyond words.
As a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, coach, manager and friend, Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Florida Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801.
