Joann W. Abrams' Obituary
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we share the passing of Joann W. Abrams (83) on August 12, 2025 surrounded by love and family.
For 52 years, she shared an extraordinary partnership with her devoted husband, Paul J. Abrams. Together they traveled the world, experiencing new cultures and cherished adventures, always returning to the South Florida sunshine she adored. A native Floridian she always loved the ocean breezes, the warmth, and the beauty of the place she so dearly loved and called home
Joann was patient, wise and wonderfully intuitive to the needs of others. She carried a rare gift for listening deeply and offering comfort in both words and presence. These qualities guided her advocacy as a “Guardian Ad Litem”, brought harmony to her singing with the “Sweet Adelines”, and gave strength to her compassionate work as a volunteer with “Hospice by the Sea”.
She was also a woman of many passions. A true animal lover, she found joy and companionship in her cats and dogs, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her artistry shone through her needlepoint, where she became a master of the craft, creating three breathtaking large tapestries and countless smaller, intricate works that remain cherished pieces of her legacy.
Those who knew Joann will remember her laughter, her wisdom, her music, her patience, and above all her immense capacity for love. She lived with grace, care and a spirit that put others at ease.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul J. Abrams, her devoted daughter, Kimberly Fulwiler, husband Rich. Two nieces, Marjorie Jones of New Orleans, LA. and Geraldine Paszkicwicz of Rio Rancho, N.M.
A private celebration of her life will be held with immediate family. Please help us honor her memory by sharing a tribute or story on the memory board, so that her life, love, and light may continue to inspire us all. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in her memory to the “Humane Society of the United States” or “Hospice by the Sea” of Boca Raton, FL.
