James "Ron" Seay's Obituary
Lakeland, FL – James “Ron” Seay, age 68, of Lakeland, FL passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Ron was born December 20, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia to James and Sheila Seay. Ron was a 1967 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. Ron’s career as an outside salesperson in the paint industry moved him around to various cities in Georgia and Florida, and his last transfer found him in Lakeland.
Ron retired in 2005 after being diagnosed with dementia. He spent the past 13 years enjoying every moment possible with his family. So many wonderful memories were made during this time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, who all love him dearly.
Ron is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat Bishop Seay; daughters Kelli Benson(Mike) of Columbus, GA and Trish Warren (Keith) of Lakeland, FL; sister Dianne Sanders (Ron) of Daytona Beach, FL; beloved grandchildren Peyton, Aubrey, Bailey, and Chloe; service dog Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL. The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Tuesday Tigers at First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801. Tuesday Tigers graciously installed a grab bars and a ramp for Ron which allowed him freedom to spend time outside with his dog.
