Jack Smith, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life in the early morning hours of April 25, 2026.
Jack was born in Los Angeles, California, where his story began. In his younger years, he lived in Galveston, Texas. He joined the navy and afterwards attended Brown university.
After moving to NYC he met his loving wife Marlene Dufresne. Together, they later made their home in CA and finally in Maryland.
Jack was a man of intellect, service, and his professional journey was both dynamic and impactful, with a distinguished career in media and broadcasting. Jack contributed his talents to CBS News, Discovery Channel, NatGeo TV, and Entertainment Tonight, ultimately serving as an executive producer and screenwriter.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Marlene Dufresne-Smith, along with a loving circle of family and friends. We ask that you continue to keep Marlene in your prayers during this time of loss.
