Terry Patterson, First Cousin To Gary
Gary Patterson, my First Cousin, my Dad's Brother , Uncle Guy and Aunt Ruth's Son, was someone I came to know as a young child. Many a family visit to Hillside Farm where Gary, Judy and Family lived up the hill. We would run into each other at the barn or out on the farm. My Dad would always take me to their house when they were just starting out , to visit. I remember Gary as a tall young man who was kind hearted. My Dad would always comment on how both Gary and Judy helped Uncle Bill and Aunt Marian with the farm but more there as Family . Trips to Gary's parents house was something I always looked forward to. Love , family , football games on TV and great dinners. Visits by Gary made the family gathering a special time. This Patterson family left me feeling they were truly GOOD people.
Many years passed and just recently through my Daughter I reached out to The Patterson family to find history for a Masters thesis she was working on. Sweet memories came back through the pictures they sent to me. One never forgets .
As a surprise I saw my Cousin and his family at the Minor Family Reunion. We fought up on life and shared time tighter. I thought on that day that I would be seeing this guy in years to come.
My heart is sad that I have lost someone in our family. Even thought we did not live near each other or talk to each other over the years I always know Gary was Family loved by me.
