Frank A. Sypniewski, Sr., 77

Lakeland – Mr. Frank A. Sypniewski passed on to his eternal home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Frank was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of Stanley and Stella Sypniewski. He received his BA from the University of Maryland and his Masters from Nova Southeastern University.
In 1961, he was married to the former Lillian Jane Hall at Laurel Run Primitive Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre. They have two children.
Mr. Sypniewski retired with the rank of Inspector with the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division, serving from the President Kennedy through President Reagan administrations. He was then an instructor of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice at various colleges and criminal justice academies in Florida and Maryland. Though accomplished professionally, Frank’s priority was his love of Jesus and family. Frank served as an Elder, Deacon, Lay Leader and Sunday school teacher in Lakeland, as well as Beltsville, Maryland.
He leaves his beloved wife Lillian; sons Frank, Jr. and Bret; grandchildren Shane and Victoria; and sister Barbara. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Ann and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Stanley. All who knew Frank will remember him as the Hugger-In-Chief.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am on Monday, July 3rd at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
