Elissa H Robertson's Obituary
Elissa H. Robertson - cherished wife, mother, grandmother & friend, returned to the Lord on Friday 2/7/2025. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her three children Josyane, Rebecca and Jonathan. Born on November 21, 1945 in Clewiston, FL to Burton Wager Hundertmark and Minnie "Lee" Pridgen, Elissa's early years were filled with many family vacations to Florida beaches. She practiced tap dancing and ballet along with her sister Anitra in costumes hand-made by their mother. She played "nurse" to the myriad of dogs & other animals that her father would rescue on a regular basis from the sugarcane fields of U.S. Sugar.
Graduating in 1963 from Clewiston High School, Elissa would go on to complete Arkansas State's nursing program on 5/9/1975 & receive her RN license on 2/23/1976. She began working with Dr. John Canakaris at Bunnell General Hospital and eventually worked in the Emergency Room at Community Hospital of Bunnell with Dr. Jerry Punch of NASCAR fame from 1980-1993 until moving with her family to Lakeland, FL. She then worked at Imperial Village Care Center (later Tandem Healthcare) until retiring in 2007.
Professionally, Elissa was a highly-skilled RN, respected by her colleagues and known for her warmth, kindness and compassion for her patients and those who worked alongside her. Those who knew Elissa will no doubt remember her contagious & inimitable laugh - one without a hint of self-consciousness - loud and exuberant. She always stressed the importance of helping others and was always first in line to give to the needy.
Above all, Elissa cherished time spent with her family. She would always arrange yearly vacations to Fort Myers Beach and to the mountains of North Carolina. In her retirement years, she and her husband Boyd travelled coast-to-coast in their motorhome with their Miniature Schnauzer Oliver and Grey Tabby Jazz. She loved camping - as long as cable TV and full hookups were available in the campgrounds!
Elissa is survived by her husband of 52 years, Boyd Robertson, her children Josyane Lindsey, Rebecca Robertson, and Jonathan Robertson, grandchildren Violet Robertson and Cheyenne Boyer, and great-grandchildren Nathan & Dara Levy. She is remembered as a giver who always put others before herself.
