I found myself quite removed from Mom's daily life over recent years. Quentin was her constant companion and caretaker. As she grew ill I began taking her to her many doctors appointments and often resented the time spent driving and sitting in waiting rooms. Now I really see that the last year was a gift, a way for me to reconnect and bond with mom once again. She kept her wry sense of humor and world view up until the end. It was great to see how she really loved the attendants at her last home. While we often disagreed on many things, she truly loved all her boys and looking back at how successful we've all been, she did an amazing job of instilling a sense of honesty and doing the right thing in all of us. I will miss being able to sit with her and just watch TV or tell her about my day. Love you forever, Mom. --- Kevin.
