David Victor Rees' Obituary
David Victor Rees, 75 of Clearwater passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at his residence after a long and courageous healthcare battle. Dave moved to the US from Canada as a child and settled in Florida with his family. Dave proudly served in the US Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a skilled member of the Pistol and Rifle team earning many accommodations and medals, obtaining the rank of Sergeant before discharge.
In 1976, Dave met the love of his life, Shannon. He joined the family business, Shar/Décor and maintained the title of VP of Sales for over 30 years. In 2018, Dave and Shannon opened HC&H Art Consultants, building off his 30 years of experience at Shar/Décor and his outgoing personality and stellar sales skills.
David’s friendly spirit, jovial attitude and obsession with making people laugh will be remembered by his family and friends. Dave knew no strangers. He was a friend to all who entered his world. David is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Shannon Rees, daughter Katherine Rees, both of Clearwater, son David Rees of Plant City and his adopted family, Mario Torres, Katia, Karina, and Michelle Torres Ortiz. David will be laid to rest at the Bay Pines National Cemetery on May 29th at 11am. Celebration of Life will be held directly after service. In lieu of flowers please donate to Piper’s Promise.
