David Harold Jackson Jr's Obituary
David Harold Jackson, Jr. of Bartow entered his eternal rest on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Bartow Regional Medical Center. Born in Winter Haven, David was a lifelong Floridian whose life reflected deep faith, unwavering devotion to his family, and a passion for serving others.
David was an active member of Spirit and Truth Fellowship in Brandon, Florida, where he lived out his calling as a true disciple of Christ. He dedicated himself to studying, applying, and teaching apologetics with an evangelical heart, always eager to share God’s love and grace. His ministry reached far beyond Florida, extending across the globe to Africa, where he co-founded Vintage Skills International, a non-profit organization teaching agriculture and survival skills in remote areas to promote sustainability.
Professionally, David was both talented and hardworking, building a career in information technology and later excelling as a Solar Technician with TECO, a trade he took great pride in. Outside of work, he was happiest in God’s creation. Whether hunting, camping, or fishing, David found joy and purpose in the outdoors, viewing these activities not only as recreation but as opportunities to teach his children about God’s provisions and the value of self-reliance.
Those who knew David will remember his calm spirit, infectious joy, and steady leadership. As a father, he instilled lasting lessons through patience, wisdom, and a remarkable ability to guide without anger but with firm love. As a husband, he was Wendy’s greatest encourager, championing her dreams, lifting her spirit, and filling her life with joy.
Words fall short of capturing the full impact of David’s life, but those who knew him would describe him as a disciple, mentor, husband, father, friend, and above all, a believer.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Jackson, Sr. He is lovingly survived by his wife of eleven years, Wendy Jackson; his mother, Wanda Jackson; his children, Hunter Jackson (Haley), Taylor Jackson, Isaac Valley (Kera), Raymond Valley, and Anne Valley; his cherished grandchildren, Everett and Amelia; and his brother, Rick Jackson (Theresa).
A funeral service to honor and celebrate David’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Eagle Lake, 607 N. Eagle Drive, Eagle Lake, FL 33839, with a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A committal service will follow at Eagle Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s memory to Vintage Skills International at https://vsimissions.org/donate/
