It is hard to accept that I will never sit in your living room watching a Torah teaching with you again, Dave... at least not in this life. Perhaps in the one to come, we will hear Messiah Yeshua teaching Torah directly. Thank you for your laughs, your common sense debate points, your smile that always brightened the room, and all of the turkey feathers you so generously gave me. Thank you for being an unabashed voice of reason in a world that doesn't seek it. Thank you for being a loving, gentle giant. And thank you for being the occasional pot-stirrer... we all want to see that when the mood strikes us but we don't necessarily want to be the one who does it. *wink* I will miss you, sweet friend.
We only knew David for a short time, but in that time we saw such a sweet, jolly & gentle spirit that was contagious. My last words to him on the last Shabbat he was with us was, "You have the best seat in the house!"
David, you definitely do have the best seat in the house right now. One day, we will all be there with you and our Heavenly Father! Our love, prayers and condolences go out to the entire family. I remember how he loved my daughters Buckeyes and picked on my brother Sam that he was getting more Buckeyes than him. He would stage pictures with chocolate running down his face.
