Catherine Simon Crowson's Obituary
Catherine Simon Crowson, a lifelong resident of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on March 7, 1941, to Julian Simon and Angelina Testasecca, Catherine’s life was deeply rooted in her community, her faith, and her family. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where her spiritual life blossomed from her early years as a student at St. Joseph’s School. A graduate of Lakeland Senior High School, Catherine carried a deep love for learning and service throughout her life.
A woman of many passions, Catherine found joy in the simple beauty of the world. She loved working with and growing plants, expressing herself through art and cooking, and collecting shells, rocks, objects of modern design and other treasures that captured her eye. Her home was filled with warmth, creativity, and the wonders of nature.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Angelique Case (Michael), and her son, John Crowson (Nancy); her grandsons, Paul Ward (Megan), Hagen Ward (Brinkley), and Daniel Thornton; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Marley Jane Thornton.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Catherine’s memory to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a place that remained central to her heart throughout her life.
Catherine’s presence, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
