Brenda Kaye Newkirk's Obituary
Brenda Kaye Newkirk, 64, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on May 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born September 17, 1954 in Decatur, Illinois to parents Raymond Lockwood and Virginia Lockwood (Watson). Brenda worked as a quality assurance lab technician for Arrmaz in Mulberry, Florida.
Brenda loved her family immensely and always put others needs before her own. She loved cruising the seas, sun tanning on the beach, baking delicious treats, and spending time with her family. Brenda was always very welcoming and made everyone feel right at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Wayne Lockwood. Left to treasure Brenda's memory is her devoted husband of 45 years, Joseph Hillman Newkirk; daughters, Tonya Newkirk and Kristie Cain (Newkirk); siblings, Gary Lockwood and Ronnie Lockwood; grandchildren, Brittany Jimmerson (Richardson), Bradley Richardson, and Savannah Cain; and many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at Gentry Morrison at Serenity Gardens located at 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services at Mount Olive Baptist Church located at 5415 Mt. Olive Rd. Polk City, FL 33868 are scheduled for 11 am on Saturday May, 11, 2019, with interment and a reception to follow.
