Bonnie Ann Koon's Obituary
Bonnie A. Koon, beloved wife, mother, foster parent, and lifelong servant of God, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Nashville, TN, on January 30, 1933, she was the daughter of Robert and Mattie Williams. Bonnie’s unwavering faith and devotion to her family, church, and community were the cornerstones of her life.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her Siblings, Robert Williams Jr., Loretta Williams, Linda McAuley, and Herman. Her husband; Ed Koon, She is survived her son Randy Koon, and her siblings James Williams, Don Williams, Nancy Taylor, Bobby Brandon, and Joy Denny. She will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and those whose lives she touched with her love and service.
A devoted homemaker and loving wife to Ed, Bonnie’s heart was centered on her family and faith. Her life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and perseverance. A lifelong member of the Baptist church, Bonnie’s faith in God sustained her through every trial, and she was a fierce advocate for sharing His love with others. Over the years, she led countless individuals to seek salvation and peace through God’s grace.
Bonnie’s vibrant personality and passions were a gift to all who knew her. She was a member of Sweet Adelines for over 20 years, singing in various chapters and bringing joy through her beautiful voice. Her love of music extended to her active roles as a church choir member and accompanist. She also enjoyed participating in a bowling league, teaching Sunday school, and spreading the joy of faith with all she encountered. She was known for her infectious spirit and the belief that “What A Wonderful World,” a song by Louis Armstrong, perfectly captured her outlook on life.
A woman of great determination, Bonnie rose above humble beginnings to create a life of stability and love. Her legacy of devotion to God, family, and service to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on November 11, 2024, at Crestview Baptist Church, located at 615 Old Polk City Road, Lakeland, FL 33809. The viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. A fellowship lunch will follow the service. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Seffner Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army Disaster Relief Support, a cause close to Bonnie’s heart.
