Angus Alvin Williams' Obituary
Angus Alvin Williams, Polk County native, passed on June 25, 2024. The son of Edwin and Myrtle Williams he was born in Lakeland, Florida. He was raised on a small farm in Galloway and attended Strawberry School at Kathleen Elementary. Angus was a proud graduate of Kathleen High School, Class of 1962. He graduated from the University of South Florida and also attended Brevard Community College for a brief time. He held an advanced degree from Rollins College, Specialist in Education. Angus enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and served in the Reserves until 1974.
He spent his entire professional career serving the children of Polk County as a professional educator, administrator, coach, and mentor. He retired from the Polk County School Board in 2001 as the Deputy Superintendent of Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Linda. Angus had two children Kasandra Spears (deceased) and Robert Williams by his first wife, Sandra Keen Bath. He also enjoyed his other daughters Kelly Walker Wilson and Jennifer Walker Lipham. He is survived by his grandchildren: Cole Williams, Ashley Spears, Steven Spears, Keen Williams, Brittani Cole, Tyler Cole, Alexa Lipham, and Chase Lipham.
Angus was a true sportsman and loved to fish and hunt, spending countless hours in fellowship with great friends and family. He spent a great deal of time outdoors working on a ranch, gardening, or one of his many projects.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church 2140 Crystal Beach Rd. Winter Haven, FL 33880. A reception will be held at 10 am followed by services at 11 am.
