Wilma Waldrup Powell's Obituary
Wilma Waldrup Powell, 96 of Lakeland died on September 30, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospice.
Wilma was born on November 3, 1923 in Marianna, FL to Robert and A.D. Russ. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with family watching her beloved Georgia Dawgs play (even if she really did not understand the game), and most of all she loved gardening. She would plant a small garden each year and even planted mustard greens and okra at the end of the swimming pool in the flower beds.
Wilma was predeceased by her daughter Gail, stepsons E.V. Waldrup,Jr. and Frank Waldrup, Husbands E.V.(Newt) Waldrup, Sr. and Thomas J. Powell and is survived by her children, Jean W. Durdin, Annette W. Harris, and Charlie Waldrup(Lanae), Her grandchildren, Stephen Harrelson, Michelle Harris, Sharilyn Durdin Lampon (Gayle), Heather Oglesby, Granger Durdin, Forbes Durdin (Erin), Jason Waldrup, Alea Waldrup, Kristin Sanders (Seth), Breanna Waldrup-Olsen (Andrew) and Jena Deaton(Jake); Great Grandchildren Amber and Taylor Waldrup, Audrey, Hayden and Lilly Meek, Micah and Parker Sanders, Devon Wysocki and Logan Yankowski, Luke, Rhett and Justin Deaton, Bennett and MacKenzie Van Meter, Emilie and Allie Durdin
A funeral service for Mrs. Powell will held on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd, Lakeland, FL with interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
