William Morton Hannah IV's Obituary
With deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of William Morton Hannah IV announces his peaceful passing on Christmas Day, December 25, 2018, at the age of 98 years. Bill will be remembered fondly by his beloved family - his wife Marie, daughter Ellen Baker and her husband Ken, son Will Hannah and his wife Ginger, Bill's brother John Hannah and his sister Nancy Forsyth, along with his nieces, nephews, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Bill was born November 1, 1920, in Louisville, Kentucky and had four siblings - Frances, Walter, Nancy, and John. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, served as a Warrant Officer in World War II, and was Comptroller of several colleges, including Agnes Scott in Decatur, Georgia and Florida Southern in Lakeland. He and Marie were long-standing residents of Lake Morton Plaza. Bill was a lifetime member of the Rotary Club. He and Marie volunteered for many years at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
A remembrance service will be held Saturday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive.
