William Irving Brobst
Lakeland – William Irving Brobst, 87, passed away Sept. 3, 2024.
Mr. Brobst was a longtime member of Lakewood Park United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. He also was a member of the Schalamar Creek Singers. Mr. Brobst was an avid model boat builder, and was a member of the Bay Area Electric Boaters Club. He also was a Cadillac enthusiast, and a world traveler. Prior to retirement, he traveled the world with his instrumentation company.
Mr. Brobst was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Agnes Brobst; sister, Barbara Finn; and daughter Laurie Rice. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet Brobst of Lakeland; son, William (Gwendolyn) Brobst of Lakeland; grandchildren, Heather Rice of Lakeland, Jonathan Rice of Gulfport, MS, and Shelby Brobst of Lakeland; as well as longtime friend, Tom Brown of Lakeland.
Visitation will be Sun. Sept. 8th from 2-3 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, followed by a service at 3 pm.
