WANDA LIMMESAND BRUNS, 79
WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Wanda Limmesand Bruns, 79, passed away December 28, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. She was born June 30, 1935, in McVille, N.D., and grew up in Binford, N.D. Wanda married her favorite pilot, Douglas R. Bruns on December 28, 1956, in Valley City, N.D. The couple celebrated a tribute to their 58 years of marriage with their children and family on the day of her passing. Wanda is survived by her husband Douglas R. Bruns, one son Michael Bruns (Diane), Eagle Lake, grandson Aaron, three daughters: Kimberly Lohmann (Keith), Lakeland, grandsons Austin (Anna) and Grant; Lori Tidwell (Mark), Ft. Myers, grandson Allen and granddaughter Katie; Beth Mulder (Kelly), Winter Haven, granddaughters Holley, Morgan and Taylor; Wanda's sister Enid Nelson, Staples, MN, and sister-in-law Marlys Arnold, Orlando, along with many loved nieces and nephews. Wanda had an extensive, dedicated 58-year career as a registered nurse. She graduated from Mercy Catholic Hospital School of Nursing, Valley City, N.D. Her career began as an evening supervisor from 1956 to 1968 at Mercy Hospital. A relocation to FL. in 1969 led to employment at Lakeland General Hospital. She was the assistant head nurse on the orthopedic unit until 1974. Then Wanda joined Clark & Daughtery Clinic as the office nurse for Dr. S.J. Clark from 1974 to 1985. The last 20 years of her career was spent at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in surgical services and utilization review. In addition, she enjoyed working in the nursing lab as a clinical assistant at Polk State College. In retirement, Wanda enjoyed State Park Camp hosting with her husband, Doug. She loved fishing, boating, photography and lazy afternoons reading. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland, or SPCA, Lakeland. Memorial services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harden Blvd., Lakeland, FL, on Jan. 3, 2015, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 10:15 a.m. in the church vestibule prior to service.
