Walter Scott Fowler, 88
Lakeland – Mr. Walter Scott Fowler 88 passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
Scott was born on March 14, 1927 to Walter and Nina Fowler in Ponca City, OK. Scott founded Fowler Vending in Ponca City in 1948. The company is still in existence today. He was also a former owner of two restaurants in Lakeland, Dog-N-Suds and Glenn’s Coffee Shop. After many years Scott retired from the US Post Office. He was also a charter member of Victory Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie in 2014. Scott is survived by his two daughters, Joy (Mike) Linkswiler and Deborah (Steve) Carey both of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter, Jessica (Jason) Merritt of Bartow, FL; two great grandchildren, Brayden Glogower and Rilynn Merritt both of Bartow, FL.
A visitation will be held on Friday (today), June 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home 3350 Mall Hill Drive Lakeland, FL. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 8:30 AM at Serenity Gardens with Pastor Jeff Sellers officiating.
