Viola Taylor's Obituary
Viola Taylor, of Orlando and Lakeland, Florida, peacefully went to the arms of Jesus on January 1, 2023.
More important than any of the many occupations she held was her gift of caregiving and her unyielding strength. Viola was born in 1924 in the mountains of Tennessee in a place so small, it was only referred to as a County – Unicoi County, Tennessee. She was the oldest of 8 siblings and, assisting her mother, became their 2nd mother. She loved each of them beyond measure.
In her teenage years, she began caregiving for children of a family in Johnson City, Tennessee. A member of that family she would eventually marry on February 6, 1941. Viola became a mother of 4, grandmother of 7 and several step-grandchildren who were her life and devotion. She loved Jesus, her church, and had a remarkable laugh that shook her entire body.
Such a simple upbringing and life for a genuine and true angel on earth.
Viola’s adoring children are Lt. Col. C.V Taylor, USMC (retired) (Bonnie) from King George, Virginia; Larry Taylor (Sandy) from Lakeland, Florida; Lonnie W. Taylor (recently deceased) (Jean) from Toledo Ohio and daughter Sharon Schackne (Michael) from Lakeland, Florida.
Surviving siblings are Evelyn Chapman and Wanda Judkins (Gary) both from Adrian, Michigan.
Private family service to be held in Serenity Gardens on January 4, 2023.
Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be sent in her name to Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland, Florida.
