Vesta Roberta Harris, 86
Lakeland - “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Expressed not as a command, but as a fervent, faithful prayer and a guiding principle in her life, Vesta Roberta Harris went peacefully home on March 12th, 2016 secure in the knowledge that she had served her Lord faithfully and that she had provided a secure, firm faith as a foundation for her family to build upon. She leaves a legacy of faith in her two sons and their wives, William James Harris and Cheryl Grace Harris, Andrew Frank Harris and Elizabeth Ann Henson Harris, four grandchildren, Jason Harris, Josh Harris, Lauren Morris and Kristen Light, and four great grandchildren.
Born the last of six children to Harold Andrew and Loka Brantley Licht on August 15th, 1929 in Arcadia, Florida, Vesta worked for 40 years as the PBX Supervisor at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She served faithfully at Trinity Life Church of God, by playing piano and singing in the choir for 63 years up until just a few weeks prior to her death. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, was an avid game player and enjoyed reading.
The visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 19th with the service immediately following at 11:00 AM at Trinity Life Church of God (formerly West Lakeland Church of God) 1942 West Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland Florida. Interment will take place at New Hope Baptist Church in Wauchula, Florida at 2:00 PM
