Verlin Neil Rogers' Obituary
Verlin Neil Rogers 90 of Lakeland died on Friday, May 31, 2019 in Lakeland. He was born in Steward, IL to James Neil and Icy Mae (Page) Rogers and was a proud US Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the VFW. He was also a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where he served as a lector and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Frances Elizabeth Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Geraldine “Gerry” of Lakeland, his children Neil Scott Rogers and his wife Trish of Lemont, IL, Karla Ann Crews and her husband Fletcher of Chatham, IL, Jeffrey Philip Rogers and his wife Amy of Willis, TX, and Julie Anne Rogers of Sarasota, FL, his brother Elbert his wife Doris and sister Donna Lampkins, eight (8) grandchildren and six (6) great, grandchildren. Mr. Rogers’ family will receive friends at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 820 Marcum Road, Lakeland on Friday, June 7th from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at which time a Memorial Mass will take place. He’ll be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland.
