Vera Medders' Obituary
Vera Medders, passed away on July 13, 2023, at the age of 92. She was a woman of faith, embracing the Pentecostal belief, and attended services at the Family Worship Center in Lakeland, Florida. Vera was known for her love for her family and her passion for creating lasting memories.
One of Vera's greatest joys in life was fishing, particularly with her beloved husband, children, and whenever there was a body of water nearby. She treasured the moments spent camping and fishing together, creating precious memories that will forever be cherished by her family.
Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Oswald Medders, her son Danny Medders, her daughter Koneta Dease, and her sisters Marie Malone and Cleo Sutton. Their memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Left to honor Vera's memory are her sons Randy and Timothy Medders, and her daughters Gloria Richey and Sabrina Medders. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Their lives have been touched by Vera's love, kindness, and joyful spirit, and they will forever hold her dear in their hearts.
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the same location. A comitial service will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
Vera Medders leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her spirit will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched, and her memory will be forever treasured.
