Tracy Lynn Kopp's Obituary
“Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.” - John 16:22
Tracy Lynn Kopp passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023 at the age of 60. She was and still is loved dearly by those close to her.
Throughout her life, Tracy was a mother, caring for younger relatives as a teenager, helping her husband to raise her three stepdaughters, and then bringing into the world her own three children, D.J., Patrick, and Kaitlynn. She dedicated her life to raising kids and being a mother to the young people that needed her. She instilled Christian values in God’s children by praying with them in the home and teaching them at Sabbath school. Even in her later years, nothing brought her more joy than caring for her kids, whether that meant a home-cooked meal or a gift “just because.”
While the title of “Mother” embodied Tracy, she was first and foremost a child of God. Her faith was relentless, and she leaned on her Savior through the good and the bad. It was God who gave her the infectious laughter that remained strong throughout her life. It was easy to get her laughing and hard not to join in. It was God who gave her the hands that played piano on Sabbath, that powdered her face with makeup, that allowed her to pour her heart out into diaries. It was God that gave her the strength to build a Christ-centered family with her husband of 40 years, Dennis; to forgive gracefully; and even to roll her wheelchair onto a plane, fly to California, and ride every ride at Disneyland.
She was predeceased by her parents, Louis Lessley and Patricia Hayes. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Dennis Jr., Patrick, Kaitlynn; her sister Heather; and her stepdaughters, Lisa, Tammy, and Robin.
