Timothy Lee Mullins' Obituary
Timothy Lee Mullins, 63, of Lakeland, Florida passed on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Born June 19, 1961, to James and Bertha (McIntosh) Mullins in Xenia, Ohio. He moved to Florida over 30 years ago and has been a part of the community in Polk and Osceola counties ever since.
He went by Tim to most people but referred fondly by family as Timmy. Tim was known by many as the fruit stand man on Highway 192 in Kissimmee where he served those who stopped or frequented his business. He was a man of few words, kind and caring, hardworking, and touched many lives without even realizing it. He attended Church for The One HP Tim had many interests in fishing, cars, country music, cooking and nature. He enjoyed being a traveling fruit and citrus distributor but was a man of many talents who also was a "Mr. Fix It" and home mechanic. Tim may have been best known for his time as lead cook at IHOP In Kissimmee or frequenting the local auto auctions in Polk County. He truly loved holiday lights and could be found on the patio area of any place or establishment he visited.
Tim met his love Maribeth Hoplight at the old Paddlewheel Restaurant in Kissimmee, they married October 12, 1985. His loving wife often enduring the workday with him and for a time he got to travel for a small private fruit distributor. And spent some time with his green thumb in the garden center at Walmart in St. Cloud. His family grew with his mother-in-law, Mary Wilson and daughters Betty Ann and Chrissy. He loved his family deeply and proudly feed their needs. Even during hard times, he would give his whole world for his family. Just as he did for the community.
He is preceded by his mother Bertha Mae Mullins, niece Jennifer Watson, and Father-in-Law Robert E. Wilson. Survived by his wife Maribeth Mullins; children Betty Ann(Jordan) and Chrissy(Donovan); grand kids Logan, Tucker and Jack; siblings Jimmy(Tammy), Johnny(Gwen), Rhonda(Juan); in-laws Debbie, Mike(Karen), and Mary Wilson; dear friend Tony and leaving behind many extended family and friends who had become more like family.
The family will receive family and friends for a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Vineyard Church of God, 490 W. Vine St., Bartow, FL.
