LAKELAND - Thomas 'Gerald' Sherrouse, 76, passed away Nov. 25, 2017.
Mr. Sherrouse was born on Apr. 10, 1941 in Lakeland, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Kathleen High School, Class of 1959, and was active in the FFA. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a part of the Kathleen Area Historical Society. Mr. Sherrouse was an avid hunter, fisherman and musician. He enjoyed guitars and Bluegrass music.
Mr. Sherrouse is survived by Rebecca Sherrouse; son, Bill Sherrouse; daughter, Esther (David) Harvey; brothers, Dayton (Lisa) Sherrouse and Kenneth (Laura) Sherrouse; sister, Lois (Lamarr) Murphy; grandchildren, Jennifer Furnell, Clarissa Gust, Joshua Sherrouse, Silas Harvey and Brogan Harvey; and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thurs. from 10-11 am at Bethel Baptist Church, with services to follow at 11 am at the church. Interment will be in Socrum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or the Kathleen Area Historical Society.
