Thomas Erwin Redmond's Obituary
Thomas E. Redmond, 84, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday July 13, 2024. Tom was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to parents Patrick and Anna Redmond on August 24, 1939. Tom is a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1963 – 1965 and was stationed in Monterey, California. Tom, together with his wife, raised his family in East Islip, N.Y. where he worked as a Graphic Design artist and Photographer for a major newspaper called Newsday. They retired and moved to Kissimmee, Florida where they enjoyed retirement together traveling and spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosemary Redmond.
He is also survived by his 5 children Jennifer Redmond and spouse Irene, Thomas E. Redmond and his wife Emilia, Tara Getter and spouse Ray, Sean Redmond and spouse Jacquie, and Heather Harding and Spouse Tim. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren that he loved very much, Anastasia, Raymond, Alexa, Ayden, Thomas E. Redmond III, Chayse, Patrick. Tom is also survived by his best pal, his Goldendoodle, Buddy.
Tom was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was always quick with a smile, a laugh or a great conversation about what’s new with you. In his free time, Tom loved to go fishing. He was either out on his boat, or out on a pier somewhere fishing for the big one.
Tom will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him. He was genuinely, a great man.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810. Services with Military Honors will begin at 3:00 PM.
