In Loving Memory of Thomas E. Kent
March 28, 1956 – January 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom Kent, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully on January 26th at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was 68 years old.
Born on Wednesday, March 28, 1956 in Morristown, NJ, Tom grew up with a passion for his family, bowling, NASCAR and football and a love for the San Francisco 49ers. He spent 15 years dedicated to the Walt Disney Company before retiring, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him for his positive traits, such as kindness, work ethic, humor, etc.
Tom was the devoted husband of Evelyn, his partner and soulmate for 47 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to Craig, Shane and Angel and a doting grandfather to Madison, Mason, Janna, Phillip, Brittany, Dezi, Ryan, Cameron & God given Grandchildren Chapman, Coleman, Ray-Ray & Cendale.
He loved spending his extra time with family, taking them to Disney to put a smile on their faces. Making his wife, family and his friends happy was his number one goal in life.
Tom will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his ability to bring a smile to any room, and his love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A service to honor his life will be held on January 31st at 11 am at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL. The family will receive family and friends for visitation from 10 - 11 am prior to the service.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
