Thomas M. Jones, 62, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, following a short illness. He was born Aug. 23, 1954, in Alliance, to Thomas R. and Betty (Tucker) Jones. He graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1972.Tom spent two years on the Great Lakes working on a large freighter. He worked in the steel fabrication business in Florida as Project Manager, Job Prep and Estimating. He served on the board of the Home Owners association for six years with his wife Jo. He loved sports and played baseball, football, and basketball in high school. He loved golf. He was an avid swimmer and growing up he spent his summers at Benner's Pool in Sebring. He was in the high school play "Annie Get Your Gun". He attended the University of Akron and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Denise Jo of Lakeland, FL, Son; Zack (Anessa) of Highland, IN, Stepdaughters; Lindsey Cromer and Brianna Pomeroy of Lakeland; Mother; Betty Jones of Sebring. Brothers; Steve of Salem and Frank (Linda) of Alliance. Sisters; Mary Duvall of Salem and Liz and Nancy of Sebring. Grandchildren; Ansley and Nohl Jones, Clayton and Jaylen Cromer and Adalynn Gould. Niece; Heather (Greg) Galvin of Bluffton, SC, Nephew; Josh and greatnephew, Caden of Alliance. He was preceded in death by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents. Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday February 23rd at 7:00pm at Fuel Church 98N & Duff Rd. (Northside Village) Lakeland, FL.
