She loved God, family, friends, community and country.

In 1948 Sue’s family moved from Chicago to San Fernando Valley in Southern California. She met her husband Charles Don Ward (he preceded her in death June 25, 2004) at a summer church camp. After a two year courtship she married Don in Pacoima, California on June 1, 1956. In January 2000 they moved to Alexandria Bay, New York. Don went to heaven June 25, 2004. In April 2013 she moved to Lakeland, FL.

Over the years in New York, Sue attended the Alexandria Bay Baptist Church and the Watertown River of Life Fellowship and New Life Church in Watertown, New York. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at age 15 and later baptized. She always had a deep faith because of her strong belief in God and His true Word, the Bible.
She was involved in many wonderful groups and loved the people in them: Church, Bible Study, Nutrition Luncheon, Homemakers, Senior Citizens, Prison Ministry and Alexandria Bay Ladies Gold League.
Besides her love for God and working in the church, and family and friends, she loved and enjoyed her 32 year secretarial career. She started out in high school working at Kress dime store. After marriage and children, and after her youngest went to kindergarten, she got a job as a secretary at an insurance company. Next she worked at a bank as the manager’s secretary, then Deputy City Clerk for the City of Simi Valley, California (where the Ronald Reagan Library is located).
The in 1974, Sue and her husband Don and children moved to Susanville, in Northern California. She proceeded to get a job at a title insurance company as secretary / poster, then Lassen County District Attorney’s Office as a legal secretary / bookkeeper, then Lassen Community College as Administrative Assistant, and lastly at Lassen Community College as Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Instruction. Sue retired from the College in November, 1997. God blessed Sue all along her career path; step-by-step He led her and guided her way to a successful career. Psalm 119:105 – The Lord is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
Sue loved her awesome God, her wonderful husband, her three wonderful, loving children and eight exceptional, extraordinary grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She loved the closeness of her family. She loved the family togetherness and the family love. They did many things together. They had wonderful outings and vacations. She always remembered their birthdays as a very special day with cards and, if possible, called each one on the phone to sing happy birthday to them. After God, her family was at the top of her list in life.
Now she will rest in peace along with her loving husband, Don and her Lord Jesus Christ.
Donations on Lieu of flowers may be made to Victory Church Kids Club where she volunteered, 1401 Griffin Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810.
