Susan Marie Shea's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Susan Marie Shea, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the age of 66. She was a grandmother, sister, mother-in-law and aunt who had her three children and sister by her side during her final moments. She was born on July 7, 1958, in Miami, Florida to Sandra and David Bratcher and grew up in Lakeland, Florida.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, and always making new friends everywhere she went.
Our Mom loved going to the beach and having her feet in the sand. She loved to dance, enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also liked game nights at Caren’s with family and friends. She enjoyed baking and gardening too.
She had a bucket list of things she wanted to do after finding out her prognosis. One being able to see the fall foliage in the North Carolina mountains. We were able to take her on a girls trip this past October. Mom was so happy that she got to see the leaves in peak season, and they were so bright and vibrant. She also got to see some waterfalls, sit by the fire, and make lasting memories!
She is survived by her three loving children: Melissa Carnley (Chris), Lisa Marchand (Jack), and Kevin Shea, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Caden, Emery, Malley, and Clare. Her brothers and sisters Catherine Bratcher, David (Simone) Bratcher, Caren (Dave) Gilliard, and Steven (Lisa) Bratcher, as well as many other family members and friends. She will be joining her mother and father Sandra and David Bratcher, her grand pup Colonel (Corndog) and many others in Heaven.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home/ Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, Florida 33801
