Steven Lew Wellen, 70, passed away on November 30, 2020. Born in Maryland on January 12,
1950. Steven was the son of Hugh and Catherine Wellen. Brother to Bob, Bud, Gary, Howard,
Pat, Cathy, Terry, Ellis and Tracy. Beloved husband for 53 years to Debra Wellen. Father of
Steven Wellen and Brian Wellen. Grandfather to Kyle, Luke, Madison, Jonathan, Mathew and
Julia. Hero to many more than this page can hold.
Steven worked in the construction industry for his entire life. He was the jack of all trades and
always there to help whom ever needed it. He loved to fish and hunt in his free time. Spending
time camping at Riverbend in West Virginia with family, friends and friends that became family
was the highlight of his life. He was always the life of the party and the guy who was sure to
make you laugh. Classic cars and hotrods always brought a smile to his face weather working
on his own, helping someone else with theres or seeing one drive by. His Retirement as a Snow
bird Floridian where he continued to be the jack of all trades for his neighbors brought much
joy to the past four years of his life.
Steven was the man we all loved to know and knew we could call on him for anything. He
loved to make you laugh, help you in a time of need, fix something that is broken or help you
build any project weather big or small.
Steven will be missed by all and forgotten by none. May he rest in eternal Peace.
“We knew so little that morning.
That God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For Part of us were with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories.
Your Love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you.
Your are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken.
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one.
The chain will link again .”
