Stephen Todd Robinson M.D.'s Obituary
LAKELAND – Stephen Todd Robinson, M.D., 54, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Tampa General Hospital after suffering a heart attack the previous Saturday from which he was unable to recover. Dr. Todd was born November 22, 1963, in Rome, Georgia, the only son of Dr. H.G. and Bonnie Robinson, who preceded him in death. Dr. Todd graduated from Florida Southern College in 1987 and the University of Kentucky School of Medicine in 1991. In 1994, after completing his residency, he served as a medical missionary doctor in Bangladesh and then joined his father, Dr. H.G. in family practice at the Robinson Family Clinic in Lakeland. Dr. Todd met his wife, Tamara R. Meadows, while in his residency in Lexington, Kentucky, and had been married for 23 years.
Dr. Todd is survived by his loving wife, Tami, and five children—Chase, Brooke, Cole, Paige, and Rose; two sisters, Cathy Sokolski (Tom), and Bitsy Dawn Scaniffe; mother-in-law and father-in-law Diane and Mike Meadows; one sister-in-law, Lori Eckdahl (Bill); two brothers-in-law, Jami (Kathy) and Michael; five aunts, Dimple “Dee” Tosh, Judy Ray, Betty Steele, Betty Jo Friskney (Doyle), Debbie Wilkinson (Russ); two uncles, Ron Meadows (Carolyn) and Ray Meadows (Debbie); nieces and nephews, Brittany Sellers, Brenna Meadows, Stephanie Sokolski Cunningham (Craig), Courtney Eckdahl, Sammi Sokolski, Shelli Sokolski, Staci Sokolski Bates (Trevor), Cathy Scaniffe, Jessica Sokolski, Caleb Scaniffe, Emily Meadows, Shelby Meadows, MacKenzie Meadows, John Meadows, and many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Dr. Todd loved being a physician, and he did not view what he did as a job, but as a calling. He loved researching and reading to find answers that would benefit all of his patients, but especially for those with health problems for which conventional medicine offered no further options.
Dr. Todd enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, sporting clay shooting, Saturday breakfasts at Fat Jacks, Thursday lunches at Beef O'Brady's and spending time with his family and friends.
The viewing will be held at Christ Community Presbyterian Church, Lakeland, Florida, on Friday, July 20, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
