STANLEY LIONEL MOORE, 89
LAKELAND
Stanley Lionel Moore, 89, passed away from complications of pneumonia Aug. 18, 2014.
Mr. Moore was born in Cowden, IL, on Jan. 3, 1925, to the late Cecil and Garnett Rand Moore. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. He was a member of the Altamont, Illinois, Volunteer Fire Dept. where he held the position of Fire Chief for several years. Mr. Moore retired from sales and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He also was an avid golfer and member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters; and 2 sons-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Moore of Lakeland, daughter, Anita Hoelscher of Effingham, IL, son, Randy Moore of Lakeland, FL, sister, Alice Faye Oller of Springfield, IL, 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, August 23rd from 10:00am - 12:00 noon at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 601 South Florida Avenue, Suite 3, Lakeland, FL, 33801.
