Stanley J. Katz's Obituary
Stanley J. Katz, 88 of Maitland, passed away at home on the evening of March 31, 2025.
Stanley was born to the late Benjamin and Edythe Katz in Sanford, Florida. A lifelong Central Floridian, he was an alumnus of Delaney Elementary and Sanford Seminole High School. He attended the University of Florida and was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity.
Stan was an owner of Bari's Shoe chain. Outside work, he found joy in fishing on the Winter Park chain of lakes and inshore coastal fishing throughout Florida. He had a lifelong passion for cars, single malt scotch and outdoor grilling.
Stanley is lovingly survived by his wife, Susan Katz; daughter Stephanie Freid (Mark); son, Lawrence Katz (Teresa); and five cherished grandchildren, Julia Katz, Olivia Katz, Jacob Freid, Sophie Freid, Joseph Freid and sister Sandy Rosenberg (Jefferey).
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a gift to one of Stan’s favorite charities, Jewish Family Services in Orlando.
