STANLEY DAVIS BORNMANN

Lakeland, FL– Stanley Davis Bornmann, born September 15, 1933 in Daytona Beach, Florida, to William and Helen Davis Bornmann, passed away on March 19, 2015. He was 81.
Upon graduating from Daytona’s Mainland High School in 1951, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served as a medical assistant during the Korean War. His interest in the medical field led him to obtain a degree in Pharmacy, followed by a MBA in Health and Hospital Administration from the University of Florida in 1967. His career in hospital administration took him from Gainesville to Asheville, NC before he accepted the position of assistant director at Lakeland General Hospital in 1975. He retired from Lakeland Regional Medical Center as the Vice President of Operations in 1996.
Stanley was a member of the Rho Chi Society and served on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, during which time he was honored with the Clara Barton Award for his dedication and service. He was also a member of the American College of Hospital Administrators, the Florida Hospital Association, and the UF Health Administration Alumni Organization. An avid sports fan, Stanley loved football, especially his beloved Florida Gators and attended almost every home football game since 1962 with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bornmann was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Bornmann, his brother, Charles W. and his sister, Dorothea A. Bornmann. Survivors include his son, David Bornmann (wife, Melissa) of Lakeland, FL and daughter, Diane Rolston (husband, Scott) of Libertyville, IL; and 3 grandchildren; Andrew Bornmann, Natalie Bornmann, and Matthew Rolston.
