Shirley Jeannette Kidd's Obituary
Shirley Jeannette Kidd, 68
Lakeland – Shirley Jeannette Kidd was called home at 10:03pm on July 7, 2018. For serving her 68 years as an Angel on Earth, our father has requested her presence at his side.
A native of Lakeland, Florida, she touched every life she encountered with Grace, Love and Poise. She was an active member at the River of Life Church, and a retired nurse. When she fell ill, she would say “As long as something good came from my life, I’m happy.” This was how she lived. She always left a room more beautiful than how she found it.
Shirley loved everything God created. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her firecracker personality, love and compassion. She was someone you could always rely on. She also loved the outdoors! She loved gardening and the pure smell of the earth and creating beauty for all of God’s creatures. Shirley also enjoyed the wilder things like shooting guns with her husband, and she could ride a motorcycle in a fashion that would inspire a Neil Young song!
Shirley is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Kidd; her children, Michelle Styron, Greg L. Gschwender and David Castee Kidd; her step-children Brian Kidd and Dawn Kidd; her grandchildren Kristi Waller, Lucas Styron, Liam Teague and Wolfgang Reckart; her great-grandchildren, Jyllian Waller, Pepper Rentz and Kamryn Styron; her siblings, Kathy McKinney, Susan Slay, Diane Page and Allan McKinney.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00 am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home 3350 Mall Hill Drive. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
